Flexistrip is the proven market leading load bearing security glazing strip used for installing double glazed units, laminated glass and single glass into windows and doors in exterior and interior situations. Suitable for fully bedded or drained systems on the perimeter bead only, Flexistrip combines superior performance, durability, security and ease of use with a neat and an instantly overpaintable finish, Flexistrip fulfils the many requirements of factory glaziers, and specifiers.

Features:

  • Suitable for both non-drained and drained & ventilated frames.
  • Eliminates need for distance pieces - quick to apply.
  • Immediate application onto coated timber - no special primers required
  • Superior load bearing characteristics - can accommodate wind loads up to 2000Pa when used in the B6 System.
  • Enhanced security - suitable for use under Secured by Design Scheme when used in the B6 System and tested for use.
  • Excellent finish - does not require capping.
  • Can be overcoated immediately with solvent / water borne paints and stains.
  • Available in a wide variety of widths and sizes.
  • Durable material - service life in excess of 20 years depending on conditions.

Uses:

  • For installing single glass and double glazed units into prepared timber windows and doors in the factory.
  • For installing double glazed units and single glass into steel windows.
  • For internally and externally beaded frames for units up to 1 square meter.
  • As part of Hodgson Glazing Systems B6, D3, and R1. A performance specification and glazing method statement for each of these glazing systems is detailed on our Website - visit our Technical Library.

It is essential that timber frames are properly coated and regularly maintained to avoid damage to the timber or glazing seals due to movement. Please see our Technical Information Sheets on Microporous Paints and stains. The rebates and beads when glazing should be suitably prepared according to the timber type. Timber coatings should be regularly maintained to ensure long term stability of the frames.

The full system design should comply with GGF Datasheet 4.2 – System Design and Glazing Considerations for Insulating Glass Units (IGUs) and if factory assembled should in addition meet the requirements of BS 644:2012 and the coating assessed to EN927-1.

By ordering with Dortech Direct you agree to inspect goods upon delivery. Damaged goods should be rejected. If you notice damage after the goods are delivered, you must report this to us within 48 hours of delivery. Dortech Direct does not accept damage liability for issues reported over 2 working days from the point of delivery.
